Probabilistic Voltage Sensitivity Analysis to Quantify Impact of High PV Penetration on Unbalanced Distribution System

From an operational and planning perspective, it is important to quantify the impact of increasing penetration photovoltaics on distribution system. Most existing assessment studies are scenario-based where derived results scenario specific not generalizable. Moreover, stochasticity in temporal behavior spatially distributed PVs requires a large number scenarios that increase with size network level penetration. Therefore, we propose new computationally efficient analytical framework voltage sensitivity analysis allows for stochastic change due random changes PV generation. We first derive approximation at any node power other nodes unbalanced network. The quality this reinforced via bounds error. Then, probability certain injections/consumptions multiple locations accuracy proposed PVSA illustrated using modified version IEEE 37 bus test can serve as powerful tool proactive monitoring/control ease computational burden associated perturbation based cybersecurity mechanisms.
